BenQ ScreenBar Pro (Black) in Quiet HoursWhy it is here
It lights the desk from above the screen, so there is no lamp to reflect in the monitor or to take space. The motion sensor turns it on when you sit down and off when you leave.

The best plain monitor light for a work desk: bright, wide and it switches itself on and off.

The ScreenBar Pro sits on top of the monitor and lights the desk, not the screen, so there is no glare on the display. It is the wide version of BenQ's light bar: BenQ measures over 1000 lux in the center at 50 cm and 500 lux across an 85 x 50 cm area, enough for a desk with a keyboard, a notebook and papers. Color temperature runs from 2700 K to 6500 K with CRI 95 or higher.
An ultrasonic sensor detects you within about 60 cm of the screen, switches the light on and turns it off 5 minutes after you leave, and auto-dimming adjusts to the room. The patented clamp fits flat and curved monitors from 0.43 to 6.5 cm thick, and it runs from a USB-C power adapter in the box. There is no back light toward the wall: that is the ScreenBar Halo 2.
Where it sits in real desks, and why it earned its place there.
