MARKUS has been IKEA's go-to office chair for years, and it is still an affordable chair rated for business use (ANSI/BIFMA x5.1 and EN 1335). The tall mesh back lets air through, a padded headrest sits at the top, and a lumbar pad is built in. Synchronized tilt with tension adjustment and a three-position tilt lock let you recline, and the castors lock when nobody is sitting on it.
The limits are clear: the armrests are fixed hard loops, the lumbar pad cannot be moved, and the seat depth does not adjust. The seat goes from 18 1/8 to 22 1/2 in (46 to 57 cm). The US version is tested for 276 lb, the European one for 110 kg. The 10-year warranty is unusually long at this price.
