About the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen
The Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen records two sources at once: two front combo inputs take an XLR mic or a jack, with preamps offering 69 dB of gain and a switch to line or Hi-Z instrument level for guitars and synths. Auto Gain sets your levels, Clip Safe pulls the gain down before a take distorts, and the two Air modes (Presence and Harmonic Drive) add brightness or mid-range punch. Converters reach 24-bit/192 kHz with 120 dB of dynamic range.
At the back are two balanced line outputs for monitors, and the front has a headphone output. It runs on USB-C bus power, has Loopback for streaming computer audio, and comes with Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+ and the Hitmaker Expansion bundle. It measures 180 x 117 x 47.5 mm and weighs 595 g.
