About the CalDigit TS5 Thunderbolt 5 Dock

The TS5 is the Thunderbolt 5 successor to CalDigit's TS4, in a vertical case of almost the same size (141 x 42 x 113 mm, 0.64 kg). One cable to your laptop carries up to 140 W of charging, enough for a 16-inch MacBook Pro, plus up to 120 Gb/s in boost mode. Behind it you get three Thunderbolt 5 ports for monitors and fast drives, three 10 Gb/s USB-C ports (one front port charges at 20 W), two USB-A ports, SD and microSD UHS-II readers, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and three audio jacks.

There is no HDMI or DisplayPort: screens connect through the Thunderbolt ports, directly or with a USB-C adapter. How many displays you can run depends on your computer: up to two on most Thunderbolt 4 PCs and recent Macs, three on an M5 Pro, four on an M5 Max.

Why it is here

One Thunderbolt cable to the laptop brings 140 W of charging, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, SD readers and three 80 Gb/s ports. It has no HDMI or DisplayPort output, so the screens connect through its USB-C ports or USB-C to DisplayPort cables.
