About the IKEA MICKE Desk (105 x 50 cm, White)
MICKE is the small desk IKEA has sold for years, and it fits where a regular desk does not: 41 3/8 in (105 cm) wide and only 19 5/8 in (50 cm) deep. A storage unit with a drawer, a door and an adjustable shelf sits on one side (you choose left or right), a second wide drawer runs under the top, and a cable outlet at the back keeps cords out of sight. An opening in the back panel lets air reach a computer stored in the cabinet.
The shallow top is the trade-off: a laptop and a 24 in screen fit, but a large monitor will sit close to your eyes unless you add an arm, and the cabinet has no back so things can fall behind it. The top is painted particleboard rated for 110 lb (50 kg) spread evenly, at a fixed 29 1/2 in (75 cm) height. Owners report that the white paint chips if the parts are unscrewed.
